Take a step back in time and experience the rich history of the Temecula Valley from its discovery to today. A visit to the Temecula Valley Museum promises a fun and informational day for the entire family. Picnic facilities and a children’s playground just outside the museum’s front door in a picturesque park completes a pleasurable day.The Temecula Valley Museum has something to offer everyone, whether you are a history buff, a researcher, or a curious child. Enjoy the museum on your own or as part of a docent-guided tour.

Exhibits represent life in the Temecula Valley through time and different cultures that influenced the development of the area. Displays contain handcrafted artifacts, cultural items, ranching and farming equipment, documents, photographs, and more, Exhibits depict key stories, including the Luiseno Indians, Mission San Luis Rey period, establishment of the ranchos, and transportation influences including the stagecoach and railroads.

The Temecula Valley Museum also offers a playful interactive discovery area for children. Hands-on learning experiences take place in a street scene setting with a General Store, a Dress Shop, a Photographer’s Studio, a Ride-a-Pony station and much more.

Special Events

Museum staff is available to help you plan tours for school classes and special interest groups.

A variety of interesting programs are held on a quarterly basis for adults and families. These programs include performing events, gallery talks, demonstrations, lectures and other media targeted to subject areas in the exhibits.

“Family Day” activities present hands-on interactive learning opportunities for children and their families.

The Temecula Valley Museum is owned and operated by the City of Temecula for the benefit of the public. Additional funding is provided by Temecula  Valley Museum Inc. Contributions may be made to the museum and help support our educational programs.
